3. Technical Safeguards

Double Stop is designed with a deliberate friction layer between a post and a meeting. The exact location and physical description in every post are locked until a user makes an active choice to unlock them. This step is not incidental — it filters out passive browsing and ensures that anyone who reaches your details has made a conscious decision to do so.

1-hour post expiry. Your signal disappears automatically. You are not permanently visible, and no one can map your posting patterns over time.
No photos. Appearance is described in words. This makes it significantly harder for someone to identify or target you before you have chosen to engage.
No private messaging. There is no inbox, no chat, no way to make contact except in person — where you are in full control of the space.
No accounts required. Anonymous posting means you do not build a profile that someone can study over time.
IP address retention. Every post is linked to an IP address, retained for 90 days. This creates a law enforcement trail. The platform is not anonymous to us, even when it is to other users — and that deters serious misuse.
