4. Exit Strategy

You always have the right to leave. This is not a suggestion β€” it is a foundational principle of how Double Stop is meant to be used. The app creates openings; it cannot and should not compel anyone to stay in one.

A practical framework for every interaction:

  • Before you go: Know how you will get home. Charge your phone. Tell someone where you are going.
  • When you arrive: Scan the venue briefly. Sit near an exit, near other people β€” not in a corner or a back room.
  • During the conversation: You are allowed to feel uncertain, change your mind, or simply decide this is not for you. None of these need explanation.
  • When you want to leave: "It was really nice to meet you β€” I have to head off now" is complete. You do not owe a reason, a time frame, or a follow-up.
  • If you feel unsafe: Leave immediately and without explanation. Walk toward other people, toward a staffed counter, toward the street. Call emergency services if necessary β€” in Austria and across the EU, the number is 112.

By using Double Stop you accept full responsibility for your own safety during any in-person interaction. Double Stop is a neutral platform and is not liable for the actions of any user. For full details see our Terms of Service and Privacy Policy.
